Rexburg...Home Sweet Home

Well we made it just fine here and it is freezing. It snows everyday and the temp. has dipped below zero plenty of times these last three weeks. We are settled into our little apartment. We barely fit in it but it works. I really like my job. It gives me something to do each day and I don't have to leave my apartment. Normally that would drive people crazy but I don't mind it because it is 0 degrees outside.

Here is a picture of the dorm we are living in.
And this is the door to my apartment.
Here is a picture of the living room. The door you see there opens to the lounge or "my office" I can open the little window on my door so I can keep it open during my office hours in case anyone needs me. Then under the window there is where I can distribute the girls mail.
Here is another view of my apartment. Aaron is in the swing in the corner there.

And he is happy to see you

This is our kitchen. It has a lot of cupboard space and it is a pretty nice kitchen. My only complaint is there isn't enough counter space, but it works.
We also have two small bedrooms but I don't have pictures of those because my camera battery is now dead and they are still a bit on the messy side. :) I hope you enjoyed the tour of our new home.

Happy 4th Anniversary

On December 30th, Eric and I had our 4th Anniversary. Unfortunately, we didn't really do much to celebrate it. It was on a Sunday and we were still in Texas. So we went to Church and then headed to Craig's house in Pearland for a nice Sunday dinner with family and then Eric got to play a game of Settlers with my dad and brothers. We got so caught up in our move and Eric starting school that we never "officially" celebrated our anniversary with a date.
I will say that I love Eric more now that I ever had. I have really enjoyed these past 4 years. We have spent a lot of time together and I love every moment we have together. I am so glad that I found someone who is so laid back that he can deal with me. I know that I can be a handful and Eric just loves to scoop me up and take care of me. He is a perfect match for me. I love you Eric!

Aaron and Alex

Aren't these two boys just absolutely adorable? I love seeing Aaron with his cousin Alex because I know they will grow up to be good friends. They are just 16 days apart. Some how Alex had a matching outfit to Aaron so we dressed them up and put them together to take some pictures. Aaron was very aware of Alex's hand so he kept trying to grab it. How Precious!

I think it is funny how they both have their arms spread out like they were trying to get all the attention. This video was taken right when Alex had turned 5 months old and Aaron is 5 and 1/2 months old. They are growing boys.

The rest of our trip and New Years Eve

Here are some pictures from the rest of our trip in Houston.

Saying goodbye to Sugar. I think that Aaron and Sugar were just starting to be good friends. Sugar couldn't come with us to Rexburg so she moved to Texas. I miss having her around. She always brought a positive energy to our home and I loved cuddling with her. She is a good dog and a good friend. I hear she is having a blast in Texas with Eric's parents. I hope we get her back someday. :)

My sister, Melissa, showed my sisters and me how to make beautiful looking cakes by using fondant. It was a fun activity and all the cakes turned out beautiful and delicious. Here is the picture of the cake that I made.

We all went out to Olive Garden for dinner. We had a huge group of 19 people. It was a lot of fun and good food. I like Olive Garden.

Aaron and Alex are just chillin in their car seats. Poor kids get to hang out in them more than they would like. I thought this was a cute pose they did for me.

My family had a lot of fun going to a place called "Itz." It is a pizza buffet with a lot of activities like games and rides. I went on this cool roller coaster that spins around and goes back and forth. It had been awhile since I had been on a roller coaster since you can't go on any when you are pregnant.

Cute father-son moments
I love it when I look over and I see these two playing. I think Eric is such a great dad. He was so scared to have a baby but now that we have Aaron he has embraced his responsibility and takes the time to be with Aaron.

We found some miniature bowling at this pizza place and we had a blast throwing the little balls onto the little lane that hit the mini pins. My nephews and nieces really enjoyed having balls that were more there size.

Here was a little roller coaster for the kids and my pregnant sister. Too bad she couldn't do the other one. :(

New Year's eve! It was surprisingly freezing in Houston on new years eve. All the kids didn't care because we put on a fun firework show for them. Then we sent the younger ones to bed. At midnight we went to the back yard and fit on top of Kim and Scott's play house and watched all the fireworks people were setting off all over. It was a pretty neat show. I am glad I got to hang out to see it.

For one last activity before heading back to Las Vegas, I got to sit down with my nieces and make a necklace and earrings. It was the last thing I did before I went to the airport. I think I made a pretty good looking necklace and it was really easy.

Christmas Day

Christmas morning was an EARLY one this year. We spent it at Stephenie's and they open presents as soon as the kids wake up. Well around 5:30 am Grammy Su got up to use the bathroom and one of the girls heard the bell that she wears around her neck and thought it was Santa. So she woke up her sisters and they were ready to go downstairs and open their presents. Santa had come to visit all the kids.

Santa left Aaron some rice cereal in his stocking. He seemed pretty excited about that.
Here is Aaron's gift from Santa.

It's a toy to hang up on his car seat.

Aaron got a warm outfit from his mom and dad to keep him warm in Rexburg.

We didn't really take pictures of what we got but mainly I got a beautiful necklace from Eric and he got a new blade for his electric shaver since he has to shave every day at BYU-Idaho. I also gave him a heated ice scraper which never heated and then broke the first time we used it. I guess we shouldn't by a ice scraper from Houston for the ice in Rexburg.

Christmas Eve in Houston

Merry Christmas! Here are some pictures from our Chirstmas Eve day.
First, I went to Denny's for breakfast with Eric's Mom and sister and my three nieces and nephew.

After breakfast I went back to Stephenie's house to get showered while the rest of them had a fun day at the Zoo. Then I headed over to Kim's house. It was really nice that Eric's sister and my sister lived only 2 miles away from each other so we could go back and forth very easily. We had our Coleby family Christmas dinner. Then the grandkids got to open up their gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Coleby. They all got a Sunday outfit, P.J.'s, more clothes, and then a toy. We exchanged gifts between siblings. Kim and Scott gave me a a handy first aid kit and Eric got some games. We gave Rebecca really nice perfume so that she won't stink around her new boyfriend. jk becca.

Then we headed back to Stephenie's house for pizza, new p.j.'s, Chinese gift exchange and the reading of the nativity by Grandpa Bell.
When we got there we found my 18 month old nephew, Spencer, had a red nose like Rudolph. When he was at the zoo he tripped and flew flat on his face and scraped his nose. Poor kid. :(

The kids got to act out the nativity while Grandpa Bell read it out loud from the Bible.
Aaron is opening up his christmas eve p.j.'s.
Here is Grammy Su with her new p.j.'s and her christmas present from us. Because we were moving up to Rexburg and our apartment didn't allow pets, we are letting Bob and Su dog sit for a couple of years. We miss Sugar. She is a good dog and I hear that they really enjoy having her around.

Update is coming soon...

Well we had a fabulous time in Texas for Christmas. We had so much fun spending time with both Eric's and mine families.
Then everything went smoothly in our move up to Rexburg. I have been keeping pretty busy with my new job as a head resident. I so far really like my job but it is a little stressful trying to learn everything on my own. I don't really have anyone training me. I just jumped right in. We had check-ins on saturday and I somehow survived. I will post pictures soon. We are still in the process of moving in and our computer isn't set up yet. Just thought I would give you the quick update. :)
