Time for a change

I decided that it was time for a change in my hair. I have basically had the same hair style for as long as I can remember. Sure I would cut it every once in a while but it looked the same. I would always go to super cuts or some place like that to get a hair cut. They would spray my hair wet then cut it then send me home with my hair still wet or frizzy by that time.

Today I actually went to a salon and I liked it soooo much better. They washed my hair, cut it, and then actually styled it for me. Then I got up the courage to highlight my hair. I have never colored my hair before. I have always liked my natural hair color. But I thought it would be fun to do something different. It was fun. I totally felt pampered today because my stylist took the time to make my hair look great. I didn't want to do a drastic color since this was my first time coloring my hair. I might go a little lighter next time but for now I like it.

When I got home Eric loved it so much that he couldn't stop staring at me. :) That made me feel special.

Here is the before picture
After:
It is layered all around and highlighted
I think Aaron is excited to get hair one day. :)
Eric likes to fool Aaron by pretending to blow on his face. So when Eric takes a deep breath Aaron prepares himself to get blown in the face. The funny part was that Eric was clear across the room and Aaron still reacted like this.

Things that are exciting to me...

Well we have a few new things going on. I am sure it is not exciting for you guys but they are the small and simple things that make life easier for me.

First: Aaron has a couple of teeth that have finally cut through. When we went to his 3 month appointment the pediatrician told us that he was definitely teething because he was drooling and chewing his hand. So we thought, "his teeth should coming in a couple of months." Well here he is almost 11 months and finally he has his bottom teeth. I don't have a good picture of them yet because they are still growing in. When you can see them really well I will take a picture.

Second: Last weekend we got Aaron a forward facing car seat. He has totally grown out of his infant car seat. He is tall enough and weighs enough so we decided to go buy him a new car seat. He loves it. He can see everything that is going on. I love it because it so much easier to help him from the passenger seat.

Third: I am almost done nursing. I have absolutely loved nursing Aaron but there have definitely been some hard times when it comes to nursing. I tried giving him regular milk to see how he handles it and he seemed to like it so I am now down to nursing once a day. By next week I plan on him being completely weaned. YEA!!

Fourth: I worked out four days this week so far! I am still working on losing this baby weight. I started weight watchers this week. So I am trying to eat better and I am also trying to work out more. Monday and Wednesday I did weight training for my class and Tuesday and Thursday I did a half hour of the elliptical machine. Did sleep in this morning because I am so tired but I am going to try to go tomorrow morning. I am going to Lake Powell in three weeks with my family and I need to lose 10 pounds before I go. I don't want to totally gross out my family. :)

Fifth: I am going to Lake Powell in three weeks. It is not summer without a Lake Powell trip. I missed last year because I had a baby instead.

Sixth and Last: I have never been one to read for fun. I am trying to be better so I decided to try out the "Twilight" series. I am almost done with the first book. I am proud of myself for trying to be better at reading. I still could improve because it is taking me a few weeks to read this book but it is better than not reading at all. I like the book so far.

Like I said, they are very small and simple things but they each are making life more interesting for me.

My 26th Birthday

I am amazed how I just keep getting older. It was ten years ago that I turned sweet 16. Now I am 26!!! Where is the time going? My Birthday was good. It started out just like any other day. Except I have had a cold for a week now so I woke up with no voice.
Eric was so sweet to make me french toast for my birthday breakfast. It was really good. Aaron liked it too. Then he headed off to school for a few hours while I worked in the office. Lots of fun!! jk
Eric came home in the afternoon and I was allowed to go take a quick nap while he played with Aaron. I was so tired because of my cold. At 3 I put Aaron down for his nap and then I went to my Practical Homemaking class. We were cooking a lot of things. We had to get our dough ready for the rolls we are making for next class and then we made creamy red potatoes and peas. It was really good. I brought some home and fed it to Aaron and he really liked it.
We found some last minute babysitters (perks of living in a dorm full of girls) and took off to Idaho Falls for dinner at Olive Garden. It was a tough trip in the car both ways because I didn't have a tissue and my nose was completely clogged along with sinus pressure. (sorry if you didn't want to know that)

YUMMY PASTA AND BREAD STICKS!!!!

We made it home in time to open presents and then I put Aaron to bed.

Getting ready to blow out the candles

I got Harry Potter Book 1, Snickers candy bar, a skillet, and a croquet set...

I got a portable DVD player. I think Aaron might enjoy this gift just as much because this means I can entertain him with Baby Einstein anywhere we go. :)
I got all episodes of Friends!! This is a show I never get sick of watching. It will be fun to watch them in order with no commercials. YEA!!!
Time for birthday kisses. He still hasn't figured out puckering up yet. I think I actually felt a tooth this time.
After the kisses Aaron turned to the camera to pose. How cute!
We found more babysitters while we went on-campus to play. There was a big party on campus because it is the start of 2nd block classes and a lot of new freshman moved in this weekend. We did a bungee run then roller skating and then we ended the night with some ice cream.

Eric made it all the way to the end of the Bungee Run

There was sumo wrestling. We didn't do it but it looked like a lot of fun.
Eric is my skater boy. He was really good on those skates.

I am not a very good skater at all. Infact, my goal the whole night was not to fall. I had a lot of close ones. It was still a lot of fun.

It was a fun night. I think it would have been a lot more fun if my cold got better. I think it kind of ruined the whole day for me. :(
