Dogs Vs. Babies

I know this sounds funny but now that Aaron is crawling around and exploring everything I have found many similarities between him and our dog Sugar. It has been 5 months since we had to give Sugar away to Eric's parents and I still miss her like crazy. She was my "first-born" as my mother in law would put it. I look forward to the day when we can invite Sugar back into our home.
VS.

Anyway, I thought I would share with you the 10 things that Aaron does that reminds me of Sugar.

Sugar: Whenever we would eat, Sugar would be there just begging for food. I guess we encouraged her by always giving in. At least she knew that when we finished she can lick the plate.
Aaron: Whenever we are eating he crawls over to us and then tries to grab what ever we are eating. He is definitely a lot more aggressive. He is really good at grabbing our arms and leading them to his mouth.

Since we are on the subject of food...
Sugar: Was our vacuum. If we dropped anything she would eat it off the floor.
Aaron: Is now our vacuum. If we drop anything he will find it and eat it off the floor.

Sugar:Loves socks. She would play with our socks and chew on them and then hide them under our bed.
Aaron: Takes his socks off and then he chews on it and drags it around the apartment.

Sugar: She bites her nails so they are points until they hurt and leave marks on me.
Aaron: His nails grow so quickly that if I don't cut them once a week then he will scratch me very hard and leave marks on me.

Sugar: If you leave a door open she goes right out to play.
Aaron: If you leave a door open he goes right out to play.

Sugar: She loves to shred paper to pieces. Especially if she has a chance to get to the toilet paper she will make a mess.
Aaron: If he finds paper he will tear it apart. If he finds a tissue or toilet paper he will completely shred it and then he will try to eat it.

Sugar: Loves to cuddle. She loves to be where ever you are and curl up in a little ball right next to you and fall asleep.
Aaron: Sometimes the only way I can get him to calm down is to cuddle with him on the couch. I will have him lay right on top of me and he will fall asleep.

Sugar: She will kiss you all over. Of course she can only kiss you by licking you.
Aaron: He loves to give kisses as well but he hasn't quite figured out how to pucker so instead he opens his mouth real wide and will lick you all over your face.

Sugar: Her favorite place to hang out was under our kitchen table.
Aaron: He loves to crawl around and he usually ends up hanging out under our kitchen table. There always toys and binkies left under there.

Sugar: She always got excited when we would pull out the leash because she knew we were going for a walk. She loves to go out for walks.
Aaron: As soon as we pull out the stroller he will try to climb into it because he knows we are going for a walk. He loves to go out for walks.

Well there you have it! If any of you want to prepare for a baby, just get a dog with a diaper. jk

Look at what I made!!!

I love my sewing class. I am learning so much. I am very proud of my first project. I made this pillow with embroidery and an invisible zipper. That means your aren't suppose to see that it has a zipper. Next semester I will take another sewing class so I can make clothes. :)

Grammy and Grandpa Bell

Last weekend Eric's parents came up to Rexburg for a visit. They drove all the way from TX to spend a fun weekend with us. Eric's sister Bonnie flew up from Las Vegas to join in on the fun. Eric's brother, Charles, and his wife, Krista, lives here in Rexburg. So we all just played and ate and played and ate some more.
Aaron just woke up from his nap and was a little upset by these strangers.

They arrived Friday afternoon, shortly after Eric finished his classes. They were all surprised to see how much Aaron has grown since Christmas especially since he is crawling and pulling himself up to standing. Basically, he is all over the place now.
Aaron calmed down with a book, a binki and of course, his mommy.

We decided to head off to the park and play on the swings since it was a nice day (it wasn't snowing!!!). Aaron loved the swings. We all had fun walking around the park and swinging.

After Krista got off work we all headed to "Hard Hat" Steak House. I love it when parents come into town because they always treat for dinner. Almost everyone got a nice juicy steak. I just got a really good steak hamburger. It was delicious.
We all went back to our apartment to play "Bang." It is a fun card game. Krista killed everyone and she and Eric's dad won.
Saturday morning we woke up bright and early for a 9 am session at the Rexburg Temple. It was a really good session. We forgot our camera so we ran home afterwards and grabbed the camera and the kid and took pictures.

The 3 youngest Bells with the 2 oldest Bells. :)

After we all got dressed we headed out to Big Jud's for lunch. They are really famous for their 1 pound hamburgers. Bonnie and I shared one. The hamburger was bigger than Aaron's head.

I was soooo full after eating half of that burger, fries, and ice cream. Nursing makes me hungry.

We headed back to the park for more fun with the swings. We just couldn't get enough of the park. Actually, there is nothing else to do in Rexburg. :)
We then went to dinner at "Craigo's" a pizza, pasta, and salad buffet. They have really good pizza but they don't serve pizza fast enough to keep up with the crowds. So we had to wait for them to put out more pizza's. We had a nice evening chatting after I put Aaron down for the night.
Sunday everyone joined us for Sacrament meeting. Then we all came back to our apartment where we made them all chimichangas. We cooked the unspiced meat in the crock pot overnight and it made our apartment stink. The chimichangas turned out great. Everyone hung around for a couple of hours and went for a walk around campus then we said our goodbyes since everyone was leaving in the morning.
Charles thought that Bonnie wanted some grass on her knee.

I don't know how to explain this picture. We just think it is funny.

We had a great weekend. We love spending time with family. They are awesome.

Can't sleep

So I am sitting here at the computer at 12:40 am and both Eric and Aaron have been asleep for awhile now. Aaron went to bed at 8:30 and Eric was out before 11. I am so jealous that Eric can fall asleep with in 30 seconds of laying down. It has been a long time since I have been able to do that. I have absolutely no clue why I can't do that. I feel like I work hard each day and I don't take naps like I used to when I was pregnant or when Aaron was a new baby. I was lying in bed for 45 minutes and I was no where close to falling asleep. So I decided to get up and I watched the episode of "The Office" online because I missed it this last week. Then I checked out everyone's blog and now I am blogging about it. :)
I seriously don't know what's wrong with me. I love sleep. I love to sleep in when I can. I love to take naps when I can. Why can't I just fall asleep when I want? This is so frustrating. I need to go to bed because we are getting up early in the morning to go to the temple.
I think I will go grab Eric's blackberry and play games until I pass out. Then I know that will be the exact time when Aaron will wake up. He has a special gift of knowing when I am about to go to sleep and then he decides that it is time for him to wake up.
Any ideas to help me go to sleep faster? Well I a better go climb back in bed now. I hope you all slept well. :)
