Valley of Fire

We went to Valley of Fire during Angela's spring break. It's a state park about 45 minutes north of Las Vegas. We headed out at around 4pm and got the very last campsite available. We set up camp and got dinner going. We used our double-decker blow up mattress and it filled the entire tent. We had tin foil dinners with hamburger, potatoes, stir-fry veggies, tater-tots, and cream of chicken. It was good. We forgot to bring utensils except for plastic spoons, so we had to make do. After that we watched "Pursuit of Happiness" on Eric's laptop. We finished the night by getting the fire hot and cooking S'mores. Angela didn't sleep too well. Taco kicks her a lot. In the morning we ate breakfast. We quickly decided to leave due to the heat and cunstruction nearby. Angela was very tired when we got home and slept for a few hours.

Kristen's Baptism

Kristen is a friend of mine that I tutored last year. She is a senior at Palo Verde high school. This past month she met with missionaries in our home and she was baptized on March 28th. Eric got to baptize her. They didn't fill up the font very much at all and they had to go down on their knees and then try to dunk her. Eric was determined to do it on the first try so he pushed her a little extra hard under the shallow water. As he was trying to bring her back up he lost his balance and they both fell backwards into the water. It was funny but Kristen wasn't too happy about the water being too shallow. Eric also had the opportunity to confirm her a member of the church. Afterwards we took her out for Dairy Queen.
