Going back to school...

After 5 years of being the teacher instead of the student, I have gone back to school as the student. It really isn't a big deal, I am only taking 3 credits. I am excited though. This semester I signed up for weight training so I can build my muscles and I am taking a practical homemaking class. In practical homemaking there are three rotations: sewing, cooking, and home decor. I started with the sewing rotation. Last week was my first day of sewing. We just practiced the basics of how to thread the machine and do a few sample stitches. It was so much fun I went home and pulled out the sewing machine my mother-in-law got me for Christmas and practiced some more on my machine. It was a different brand of machine so I had to figure out how use it. I am really excited to learn more on my machine. In this class I will be making a pillow and an apron. I think that I am really going to like sewing. I plan on taking a few more sewing classes in the future so I can get really good.
Last semester went really well for Eric. He pulled off all A's with one A- from his spanish class. I am really proud of him. He is taking 13 credits this summer semester. He is taking his first accounting class. He better like it because he doesn't have any more chances in changing his major. He did change his minor from spanish to two clusters of math and Spanish. He is working hard to improve his GPA and he is also working as a math tutor this summer. He will be working hard in our ward too now that he is the Sunday School President. He is actually pretty excited about his calling. I don't have a calling yet but I do have an appointment with the bishop on Wednesday for what I think is a calling. I think it will be good for me to get a calling so that I can get to know my ward better.
My job is going really well. A new semester has started and it is so much better now that I have a clue of what I am doing. This semester is different because I no longer have RA's. The school has come up with a new program called student living. This program is suppose to help the students learn how to live in a better apartment by taking responsibility for themselves and be willing to help their roommates. I no longer have to deal with behavior issues. These girls each signed the honor code and it is up to them to make the right choices. They are adults now and they don't need me telling them what to do. I like this program so far because the girls see me as a support and a resource instead of the "bad guy" that gets them in trouble if they are not following the rules. I thought it would be a lot harder without my RA's but so far it really hasn't been too bad. It is also easier to learn everyone's names this semester because I have a lot of girls returning from last semester(so I already know most of them) and I only have about 40 new girls to learn.
I really love working with the girls in the dorms. It is a lot of fun.

Sorry, I know it has been awhile since I last posted. I blame it on the wireless internet we get here in the dorms. It has been going down constantly. Last weekend it was down from Friday night until Tuesday.
Anyway, I would say that a lot has been going on. Aaron turned 9 months this week. I can't believe how fast time is going and how quickly he is learning new stuff. Here are some pictures we took of him over the last few weeks.

Aaron loves to crawl into the bathroom and play with our scale. I don't know if it is the clicking noise it makes when he puts his weight on it or the digital numbers that pop up, but he loves playing with it.

Aaron has definitely gotten better about the finger foods. It is so fun watching his little fingers try to pick thing up and put them in his mouth. Sometimes he is successful and other times he misses. This little puff made it on his chin.

This is how I basically get ready in the mornings. I try to put on my make-up while Aaron is climbing on me and pulling things out of my make-up bag. It is quite the task.

Aaron met a little girl that is ten months and her name is Erin. I love watching Aaron interact with other little kids. He just loves playing with little girls. He is a big flirt. I can't blame him though, he does live in a girls dorm. All the girls in the dorm thinks he is so adorable.

Eric and I had a little break this week and we decided to run away to SLC for a couple of days. My parents were in Hawaii so we got to play in their house all by ourselves. Well, my sister Becca was home so she played with us some when she wasn't at school or dance. We even got her to babysit while we went out to dinner. It was nice. We don't go out much without Aaron so we really enjoyed each others company.

While we were at my parents house, Aaron discovered stairs. It was amazing how he could climb up them without even really thinking about it. He loved to chase my sister's dog, Daisy around. I think he got really fast at crawling while chasing Daisy. When Daisy would go up the stairs Aaron would follow her.

We took Aaron swimming for the first time. He loves taking baths so we knew he would love getting in the pool. He was splashing like crazy and having a blast.

When we got back to Rexburg Thursday night. Aaron was so tired. I put him right to bed. When I went to go check on him I thought it was so cute how he was cuddling with his teddy bear. He slept so good that night.

Last week I was so excited that Aaron is starting to crawl around instead of scoot around. Luckily our apartment is so small that it is pretty easy to still keep track of him. Well a few days ago I had put Aaron to bed. I was trying to let Aaron cry himself to sleep but after 15 minutes of pulling at my heart strings I went into his room and he was standing up in his crib. I was shocked. Now every time I put him down for a nap or for bed I need to go in and lay him back down.
